This past Mother’s day, I had the lovely experience of picking up my puppy and bringing him home! It was well worth the several years of waiting to have a dog of my own. The last few weeks have been filled with lots of puppy kisses and new adventures with Gio.
Everyone, please meet my baby Giovanni!
In true Italian style, his full name is
Giovanni Gatsby Giarraputo
Just like me, he is an Aquarius and was born on February 15th! We have the same initials so we can share all our monogramed stuff too! He’s my little fashionably late valentine and best friend. Gio’s signature color is sage green and he’s the biggest cuddle bug there is!
It took a lot of planning and saving up. I am so so happy with my new addition to my little family. Dog ownership is a lot of responsibility and it has already made me a better person. Giovanni is my little baby but also my accountability partner. He makes it easier to get up in the mornings when I’d otherwise be depressed, keeps me on top of mealtimes, and lots of cuddles and playtime are always great for serotonin!
Giovanni is from Blue Ridge Italian Greyhounds. The breeder, Miss Anita, was so amazing throughout the whole process. She was ready to answer any + all of my questions and even let me video chat with Gio’s doggy parents before he was born! I would highly recommend her if you are looking for an IG. She was extremely kind and was able to hold on to him a little longer to accommodate my schedule. She truly cares for all of the dogs and it is so reassuring to be able to talk any time I need a little help with Gio even after I’ve picked him up.
I am extremely grateful for the people who have supported me with my dream of having a dog.
